Adaptive Companion – Help Life Run Smoothly

Help a bright, driven university student live life on her terms. Her disability needs vary day to day, so we’re looking for a calm, reliable, and compassionate person who can adapt and bring a sense of ease to her week. Respecting her independence is key, she will let you know how you can help and can give you all the training that you will need.

The role

• Support with day-to-day activities – from personal care and food prep to errands, outings, and light housework.
• Be a steady presence – ready to step in when needed, but always respecting her independence.
• On days when she’s feeling overwhelmed or communication is harder you will provide more hands on support with her communication and daily tasks.
• Join her for activities when she’s feeling well – supermarket trips, swimming, or heading to lectures.
• Building a strong, engaging and trusting relationship is a key to this role working.

Details:

• 12–6 pm, Mon–Wed
• Occasional extra hours for outings and events
• Full NZ licence + own car required
