Cooking, Chatting & Care – the perfect mix!
A man in his 30s with a physical disability in Ellerslie is looking for an upbeat, reliable person to help make his week a little brighter. He needs a hand with a few practical things around home (mostly cooking and mealtime support) — and would love someone who enjoys good conversation and a bit of banter while you’re at it.
If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in doing a job well, enjoys helping others, and doesn’t mind a chat over the frying pan, this could be a lovely part-time gig. No experience in disability support needed — just a practical nature, a caring heart, and a good sense of humour.
He uses an electric wheelchair when he’s out, but is pretty independent at home. He’d appreciate help with:
• Cooking and meal prep
• Shaving and nail trimming
• Feeding himself some foods (like cereal)
• Light cleaning (dishes, vacuuming, etc.)
🕒 Hours: Weekday mornings (8–11am) and early evenings (5–7pm), with flexibility around start times and the occasional longer day. Saturday 9 – 11am and 5-7pm, Sundays 5-7pm.
We are open to you taking on a couple or a lot of the shifts across the week.
