Active Support Role – Outings, Play & Real-World Skills

A family in Pakuranga is looking for an energetic, reliable person to spend time with their6-year-old daughter on a casual basis.

She’s active, playful, and loves being out and about — from playgrounds and parks to zoo trips and local adventures. She also enjoys dressing up, music, and imaginative play at home.

This role is about keeping up with her energy while also providing safe, steady support. She is autistic and can move quickly, so awareness and good judgement — especially around roads and public spaces — is essential.

Hours & Location
Casual – approx. 4 hours per week (mainly school holidays and some weekends)

What you’ll be doing:
• Getting out into the community – parks, playgrounds, zoo trips, local outings
• Engaging in active, imaginative play at home
• Supporting her safety in public (close supervision is important)
• Encouraging communication and independence in a gentle, positive way

Key requirements:
• Full driver’s licence (essential)
• Confident driving and happy to take her on outings
• Energetic and able to keep up with an active child
• Calm, patient, and observant
• Enjoys play, movement, and being outdoors

Experience with autism is helpful, but not essential — the right attitude and awareness matter most.
