Support a trans woman in her early 20s to live more boldly (and gently).

Looking for a job that’s genuinely meaningful, a bit geeky, and actually fun?
This could be you spending a few hours each week hanging out, exploring new interests, and being a steady, affirming presence in someone’s life.

A smart, funny, slightly anxious autistic trans woman in her early 20s (Hobsonville) is looking for another queer person to support her who truly gets it. This is peer support, not caregiving.

She loves Pokémon, maths, and dog watching. She’s curious about the world, wants to get out more, try new hobbies, and build confidence —but sometimes the planning and the overwhelm get in the way.

That’s where you come in 💛

What this role is really about

  • Being good company — chatting, laughing, sharing interests, being yourself
  • Helping her get out and try new things, even when nerves show up
  • Exploring potential hobbies (archery, anyone?), queer events, and social spaces 🏹🌈
  • Supporting her to make plans and take next steps when things feel overwhelming
  • Gently managing the admin side of plans (what’s next, when, how we get there)

This is a peer role for someone who is socially confident, emotionally attuned, and comfortable taking the lead when needed — without pushing or rushing.

About you

  • You’re part of the queer community (strong preference for a transgender woman)
  • You’re socially confident, warm, and capable
  • You’re calm under pressure and not fazed by anxiety
  • A full driver’s licence and a car is strongly preferred — it makes more adventures possible 🚗

The role is around 3 hours per week, we are pretty flexible on the times and days

If this sounds like a role you’d love rather than just a job you’d do, we’d really like to hear from you.
