Play, Laugh & Explore – Support Buddy Needed – Stonefields

2–4 hours per week | After school & Saturday mornings

We’re looking for a warm, playful, and reliable support person to spend quality time with a a fun-loving 10½-year-old girl based in Stonefields.

She is autistic and nonverbal, but she communicates in her own ways and uses an iPad (TouchChat) with support. She’s curious, active, and full of personality — and she thrives with someone who genuinely enjoys playing, laughing, and getting out and about with her.

She loves:

• The beach, swimming, parks, playgrounds & climbing

• Arts & crafts, Barbies, sand play

• Music, singing, K-pop, musicals & YouTube

• Makeup, hair, and taking photos on her iPad

• Possibly attending a dance programme in Meadowbank

She’s happiest when she’s busy doing positive, engaging activities with someone who enjoys her company and can gently guide and supervise her.

The Role

You’ll be supporting her so mum can:

• Get things done at home (shopping, cooking, chores)

• Know she is safe, happy, and engaged

This includes:

• Taking her out for short outings (about an hour)

• Playing, supervising, and encouraging positive activities

• Supporting her to use her TouchChat iPad

• Being a calm, fun, familiar face she can build trust with

• Start with 2 hours after school (any weekday)

• Saturday mornings: 2 hours

• Around 4 hours per week, with flexibility to grow over time
