Everyday Life Helper (With Walks, Chats & Fashion Tips!)
Up to 5 hours per week to start | Casual, flexible hours
We’re looking for a kind, chatty, and practical support person to assist a friendly, vision-impaired woman who enjoys staying active, getting out and about, and sharing a good conversation.
This role is all about everyday support — helping make life a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.
What you’ll be helping with:
- General household chores (cleaning, organising, ironing — nothing too rigid)
- Meal prep, cooking together, and sharing recipe ideas
- Grocery and clothes shopping — including guiding in shops and giving fashion tips
- Going for long walks and getting out into the community
- Personal care support (as needed)
- Helping navigate a smartphone and online tasks (online shopping, forms, basic apps)
- Describing what’s on the screen and assisting with simple tech tasks
- Companionship
About you:
You’re friendly, chatty, empathetic, and reliable, with confidence using a smartphone and helping out with everyday online tasks. You have good common sense around safety and feel comfortable guiding someone with vision impairment, enjoy walking, cooking, and giving honest (and kind!) fashion advice, and bring a strong work ethic and positive attitude — no experience necessary. A full driver’s licence is required.
Hours & flexibility:
- Around 5 hours per week initially, with potential to increase
- Mostly after 4pm on weekdays (Fridays from 3pm)
- Occasional Sunday availability would be great
- Approximately 2 hours per shift but could be more
- Casual hours — very flexible and happy to work around your availability
