Two brothers with intellectual disabilities have just left school and are beginning the next chapter of adulthood. We’re looking for someone energetic and steady to join their small support team, providing 1:1support to one brother at a time.

Your role is to help build structure, confidence and momentum in their weeks — getting out of the house, supporting volunteering, time in the garden, swimming, gym sessions, and community activities.

At home, you’ll also support them with personal cares and to contribute meaningfully to the household — cooking meals together, cleaning shared spaces, doing laundry, and building the everyday routines that make adult life work.

This isn’t a “sit back and supervise” role. It’s a “let’s make something happen” role.

These young men do best with someone who can take initiative, spark motivation, and turn a quiet day into something purposeful. You’ll need to be reliable, practical, and good at encouraging independence without taking over. Active, enthusiastic and with a sense of humour will help you fit in well with the household.

You don’t need formal disability experience — but you do need:

  • A full driver’s licence and your own car
  • Confidence out in the community
  • Initiative and common sense
  • Consistency and good communication

The reward? Watching two young men grow in confidence as they build their adult lives — one routine, one skill, one good day at a time.

If that sounds like your kind of work, we’d love to hear from you.
