‍About Flying Kites

‍Flying Kites is a national charitable trust supporting disabled people across Aotearoa New Zealand to find great support workers and live more independent lives through Individualised Funding. Since 2021, we've supported over 3,000 people - and we're growing.

‍About the role

‍We're looking for a board member who brings a finance or accounting lens to our governance table. This isn't about reviewing line items - it's about helping us think strategically about our financial health and long-term sustainability.

This is a voluntary role and a genuine opportunity to gain governance experience, contribute your skills to a purpose-driven organisation, and be part of something that changes lives.

‍What we're looking for

‍• Studying or recently graduated in commerce, accounting, finance, or a related field

• Some understanding of governance or organisational strategy (or a keen interest in learning)

• Passionate about equity, disability, and community

• Able to commit to monthly in-person meetings in Mt Eden, Auckland

We'd especially love to hear from applicants who are Māori, Pasifika, or from a migrant community, and from people with lived experience of disability.
