If people trust you fast, we've got a job for you.
Some people just have it — the kind of presence that makes others relax, feel safe, and want to talk. If that's you, we've got an opportunity that puts exactly that to work.
A small mentoring business we trust is looking for someone to walk alongside young people (mostly teens and young adults, with disabilities) as they build confidence, work through the tricky stuff, and figure out who they are
This isn't sitting across a desk giving advice. It's playing PlayStation together. Grabbing food. Heading to sports club, or out to Rainbow's End. It's being in someone's world, and in those ordinary moments, quietly building the kind of trust where real growth happens.
You'll notice things other people miss. When anxiety creeps in. When a trigger's about to hit. And instead of rushing to fix it, you'll sit with it, work through it together, in real time.
This isn't about hiring a checklist. It's about finding the right person.
You might be the right fit if you:
- Make people feel instantly at ease
- Are warm, easy to talk to, and genuinely curious about others
- Lead when it's needed, but you're just as happy to sit back and let someone else find their own way
- Are flexible — plans change, you roll with it
Experience in disability or youth work is a real bonus — but if you've got the right nature and you're willing to learn, that matters more than a CV full of tick-boxes.
A few practical things:
- Full, clean driver's licence + your own car (non-negotiable — you'll go where they are)
- Clear background/safety check
- Full training provided in their mentoring framework and approach — you don't need to arrive with all the answers, they'll build them with you
- Casual or contractor — flexible around your life
- This is a relationship, not a shift. They're looking for someone who's in it for the long haul, because trust like this takes months to build
- There's real room to grow here — build your own client base over time, with support to get you started
