School holiday saviour
Paid adventures, creative chaos and plenty of fun!
A family in Whitby are looking for someone who loves hanging out with kids to join them for the school holidays.
There are two primary-school-aged kids (9 & 10),and they are both great company – but very different!
The 10-year-old is a passionate creator who loves craft, drama, music and getting out and about. Her disability means she needs a little extra physical support, and she uses a wheelchair for longer outings, but she's keen to get stuck into life.
Her brother is sporty, curious and always up for an adventure – think Te Papa, Science and getting out and exploring.
Your job? Have fun with them, get involved and make the holidays memorable. Some days might be an outing, other days might be painting, playing, walking to the park or figuring out what sounds fun that day.
We're looking for someone who:
- Loves spending time with kids and knows how to keep them engaged
- Is warm, patient and confident being kind but firm
- Has experience with children (disability experience is a bonus)
- Has a full driver's licence and their own car
- Has good availability across multiple school holiday periods
- Is looking for something ongoing rather than just a one-off holiday job
Hours: 7.30am–4pm, Monday–Friday during school holidays – there is the possibility of regular after school work for the right person.
Location: Whitby, Porirua
Can't do every day? That's okay – we'd still love to hear from you.
If you're thinking “paid to hang out with two cool kids and have adventures over summer” – this could be a pretty great job. You should email us: jobs@flyingkites.org.nz
