A young man with a disability in Hastings has recently moved into his own home and is doing brilliantly at independent living. He's got three jobs, a full week, and a lot going on. He doesn't need a support worker in the traditional sense. He needs someone sharp and organised who can help him keep it all running smoothly – a personal assistant, who can give him the reminders he needs.

Friday afternoons, you'll sit down with him to help him manage the week ahead: checking his events board against his transport and alarms, actioning any changes, and giving his email inbox a proper sort so nothing slips through. You'll help him build his shopping list for the week, cook dinner together, sharing the meal, and over-see the clean-up before you go.

Sundays are shorter, tidying up from the week's supermarket shop, helping him with home management tasks, including baking for his following weeks lunches and supporting him to get everything set up and ready to go for the week ahead.

This isn't a role where you need prior experience with disability. What matters more is that you naturally notice detail, you like a system, and you're happy following the way he needs things done. His mum will hand over clear, well-thought-out checklists, and part of the job is respecting them rather than reinventing them and working with the family as part of a team. In return, he brings genuine warmth, good conversation, and a life that's genuinely interesting to be part of.

Fair warning: he's a chatty one. He'll want to know how your week's actually going, and he'll happily take the conversation on every tangent he can talk you into. If you like people who are genuinely interested in you, this is a nice part of the job, not a distraction from it.

The role is:
Friday:  2pm – 7.30pm (or shorter if you aren’t the right person for the cooking support)

Sunday: 1.30pm – 5pm
