Community Companion & Motivator (Saturdays + Casual Relief)
Saturdays 11am–5pm (ongoing) + casual full-day shifts as available
đźš—Full licence & vehicle required
Two brothers with intellectual disabilities are building their adult lives after leaving school, and we’re looking for a steady, energetic person to join their support team.
This role is primarily focused on Saturdays, supporting one brother at a time to get out into the community and make the most of the weekend — volunteering, swimming, gym sessions, gardening, outings, and meaningful time out and about.
You’ll also be part of a small support team and may be offered casual full-day shifts, including known cover needs in May (3weeks) and June (1 week).
At home, support includes practical everyday living —cooking together, cleaning, laundry, and building routines that support independence and adult life.
This is not a “supervision” role. It’s an active, hands-onrole where you help create momentum, structure, and confidence in someone’s week.
You’ll do well here if you are:
- Proactive and happy to take initiative
- Confident in the community
- Reliable and consistent
- Good at encouraging independence without taking over
- Practical, upbeat, and with a sense of humour
You don’t need formal disability experience, but you do need:
- Full driver’s licence + reliable car
- Common sense and good judgement
- Strong communication
- The ability to show up and follow through
This is a great fit for someone who wants regular weekend work plus meaningful extra hours when needed, in a role where you can genuinely see the impact of what you do.
