Community companion role, flexible hours
A young man who has recently left school is looking for a supportive and reliable companion to spend time with during the week.
He is autistic and currently finds comfort in a very familiar routine. His favourite part of the day is a walk to the local park, where he enjoys swinging on the swings, playing with water, having lunch, and then walking home again. While his world is quite small at the moment, these outings bring him genuine happiness and a sense of safety.
The role involves supporting him through this routine and building a calm, positive connection over time. The family is ideally looking for someone available during school hours for a couple of hours a day, though there is flexibility around days and shift lengths for the rightperson.
This role would suit someone who is patient, reliable, calm, and happy to slow down and meet someone where they are at. Experience with autism - or a genuine understanding of and interest in neurodivergent people - would be valuable.
The family would especially value someone who can show up consistently, notice the small things, and help make these outings feel safe and enjoyable each day.
